Ireland - EU AI Act Compliance Guide
Assess the intended use, operator role and application date together. A provider, deployer and GPAI model provider can have different duties.

Irish regulatory contacts
The AI Office of Ireland is operational under the Regulation of Artificial Intelligence Act 2026. The European AI Office supervises GPAI models. Ireland uses distributed sectoral supervision; GDPR's one-stop-shop does not create an equivalent general AI Act route.
Consult the official directory for the full current list and statutory remits. Selected contacts:
- AI Office of Ireland

- Data Protection Commission

Assess duties for your deployment
High-risk deployers assess Article 26 duties. Article 27 FRIA applies to specified public-law bodies/private public-service operators and creditworthiness/life-health insurance deployers, with statutory exclusions. GDPR DPIA duties are separate and already apply where their conditions are met.
Providers assess conformity, technical documentation and registration in the EU database where required. A sandbox is supervised testing with safeguards, not a general exemption or compliance certificate. Confirm programme availability with the AI Office.
Aeqora provides preliminary screening and evidence-management tools. This guide is not a legal determination or a complete assessment of sector-specific obligations.
